Blue flowers in November

My newest garden (see Rejuvenated Garden from a few weeks ago), has gone from predominantly yellow, to pops of blue amongst the green, with lots of foliage plumping up.
View across the deck and sandpit to the newest garden. I have loved having the mature citrus trees in the background, after years of them being hidden behind the massive hedge I removed.

The Siberian Irises are in full swing. They sway in the wind.

Geranium Johnson's Blue with a Salvia just starting to flower behind it.

Geranium mingling with the Geums
The Phlomis add a real height and structure to the planting. Seen here with seeding parsley!
The Phlomis can become quite bossy in a garden like this, so I will be pulling bits off
it if it threatens to overwhelm the more delicate neighbours. Is great in a new garden
as it bulks up so fast, with great bold leaves.

    1. I would LOVE you to come and visit, Virginia!! Just to meet you after all these years of following your blog! You are welcome to come and picnic, and drink wine to your hearts content, but just be aware that the photos are only taken of the tidy bits :-). The garden gives me so much pleasure, and that, really, is the thing that matters. Let me know when you are coming to Masterton, and I'll put the bubbles on ice!! Tehe....Rx

    1. HI Vic - I seem to be undergoing a bit of an Iris fetish if the truth be known. Have so many types now. They are so fuss-free but come up so obligingly year after year. Can think of many worse things to have fetishes over, actually. The chair fetish bothers my husband, but the Irises - well not so much!! LOL! Rachel

  3. I was lucky enough to have a guided tour this morning and even the less tidy bits (not that there are many of them at all!) are incredibly beautiful. So impressed. Thanks so much for showing me around. Fi

    1. YAY FIONA! Lovely to have had you around yesterday, after our lucky meeting the night before. Come back again, and in autumn too, specifically to grab some plants. I love giving plants away. Thanks for the eggs, by the way. Superb soft-boiled with toast for lunch. So yellow!!! Rx
