Topiary In Paris

How is this for perfection? Love this image. Wish I could be so restrained.

Summer at the Waterfall

We have been having a gorgeous summer with family and friends down at our waterfall. Kayaking, jumping (!), fossil hunting, and alfresco dining by George's mud brick pizza oven.

At one point there was only a mere trickle of water, then the next week the kayaks were washed downstream in a flood!! Happy ending. Crazy summer.

So far my babies (plants) have survived the heat. Some are now out of the reach of the nocturnally grazing wild deer.

Hot summer colours

As you can see I have FINALLY painted the iron fence - it's Ironsand, and I am really pleased with the effect it has had on emphasising the plants in front. The Michelia will be ready to train into standards this winter.

The steel flower was made by Niko Thomsen of Carterton.
